Facebook boosting is a tool we use a lot across the group, you can clearly see the results but how does it work? What’s the best way to use it, and how much should you be spending?
The Basics:
A boost can be applied to any post from a Facebook business page and, for a fee, will make it appear in the news feeds of your audience, increasing views and engagement. The boost runs for a specified duration of time from 1 day to months at time and whatever budget you apply will be split evenly between these dates.
Why should we boost our Facebook posts?
Organic reach can be unreliable and unpredictable. With so many sources of content on Facebook, between the birthday messages, status rants and videos of cats it’s easy for a great post to get lost in all the noise. Boosting ensures that your key posts are seen by the right people and given the attention they deserve.
How much does it cost?
This is all dependant on the duration you want the post to be boosted for. Prices are arranged in bands for each time period, starting at £7. The prices available vary, so when requesting a boost, let the team know your approximate budget we will choose the band that most closely matches.
Which posts should we be boosting?
Boosting is a great tool for driving traffic, awareness and conversions through Facebook. Though it’s good for just increasing page views and likes, it is particularly useful for driving event ticket sales, offer redemptions and bookings. Boosts are most effectively used in posts that contain a link or destination and are part of a multi-channel strategy. As a rule of thumb, the best posts should satisfy the following criteria:
It helps promote a product or service you’re offering
It encourages visits to your website/ design my night page.
It spreads awareness of a limited time campaign
What are the limitations of Facebook boosting?
Posts cannot be boosted if they contain an image with a high level of text (e.g. in graphics and artwork designs from Product).
How do we get our posts boosted?
All boosting is done centrally at head office by the marketing team. To arrange to have a post boosted, simply send us an email detailing the time, budget and target market of your desired boost with a link to the post itself.
