In order to create an effective social media strategy for your venue, it's best to begin by establishing what your primary social media goals will be in line with the primary marketing goals of your venue. E.g.
Engage with new customers/prospects
Raise brand awareness
Improve brand perception
Increase traffic to site
Increase sale
After you outline these high-level social media goals, the next step is to choose the right social media tactics to best achieve this, Facebook and Twitter for example are both excellent platforms for driving traffic due to their encouragement of external links, while Instagram is great for building brand awareness.
Goal 1: Improving your communication
There are several tools within Revinate that can assist with your guest communication management. By setting up social media searches for your hotel, you are able to receive important social media feedback about your hotel through a daily, weekly or real time feed. Revinate’s Social Buzz and Twitter Tools also make the time consuming process of responding to and sharing excellent customer feedback more efficient. You can similarly use scheduling platform Hootesuite’s customisable dashboard to view and respond to mentions and messages.
Goal 2: Increase your brand’s exposure
Compelling, engaging Facebook posts will help to get your venue’s messages into the news feeds of your users. Twitter’s social listening tools also offer a great opportunity to crowd source unique user generated content that relates to your venue.
Goal 3: Generate more website traffic
If you’re looking to generate more website traffic to your site through social media, sharing direct links to various elements of your site is a great way to do this (e.g. history, local attractions, special offers etc.) Blog creation is another great way to drive traffic with interesting and engaging content that customers will want to click through to.
